Designed for select Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne 3.0L V6 diesel applications, these air-cooled Valeo alternators are available in both New OEM and Professionally Remanufactured configurations.

We offer two different alternator versions depending on model year and regulator communication type. Selecting the correct version is essential for proper operation of your vehicle's charging system.

Available Alternator Options

2009–2010 Models – BSS Regulator

The early-model alternator uses a BSS (Bit-Synchronous Single-Wire) voltage regulator to communicate with the vehicle's charging management system.

2011–2016 Models – LIN Regulator

The later-model alternator uses a LIN (Local Interconnect Network) voltage regulator to communicate with the vehicle's electrical management system.

Important: BSS and LIN regulators use different communication protocols and are not directly interchangeable. Installing the incorrect version can result in charging system faults, communication errors, or improper alternator operation.

Availability and Shipping

We normally keep these alternators in stock and ready to ship!

We try to maintain inventory of both New OEM and Remanufactured alternators for the early BSS and later LIN applications.

However, inventory can vary depending on the specific version selected. Occasionally, a remanufactured alternator may need to be rebuilt to order, which can result in a delay of up to one week before shipment.

Most of the time, these alternators are available for immediate fulfillment.

In the event of a qualifying failure, Anchor Motorworks will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective alternator. Customers may be required to perform diagnostic testing to verify the failure before a warranty claim is approved.

Warranty exclusions include:

• Damage caused by oil, fuel, or coolant contamination.

• Water intrusion or evidence of submersion.

• Damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, or external electrical system faults.

Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

This warranty covers the alternator itself and does not include labor for removal or installation, towing, consequential damages, or other associated expenses.
