Audi Q5, A6 & A7 3.0 TDI Alternator – 180A or 220A High-Output Upgrade

Keep your Audi's charging system operating reliably with a new or professionally remanufactured alternator from Anchor Motorworks. Designed for select Audi Q5, A6, and A7 models equipped with the 3.0L V6 TDI diesel engine, these alternators replace the factory Valeo and Hitachi air-cooled units.

We offer two output options: a factory-style 180-amp replacement or an upgraded 220-amp alternator for increased charging capacity.

Available Alternator Options

180-Amp Alternator – Factory Replacement

The 180-amp alternator is designed as a direct replacement for vehicles originally equipped with a 180A charging system. It maintains the factory charging capacity and is available in new or remanufactured condition.

220-Amp Alternator – High-Output Upgrade

The 220-amp alternator provides an additional 40 amps of charging capacity compared to the original 180A unit. This upgrade is ideal for owners looking for increased electrical output while maintaining an OEM-style air-cooled alternator configuration.

Vehicles originally equipped with the 180A alternator can be upgraded to the 220A version where compatible. When performing this upgrade, we recommend recoding the vehicle's battery energy management module to reflect the higher-output alternator.

5-Year Limited Warranty

All alternators include a 5-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

At its discretion, Anchor Motorworks will repair or replace a qualifying failed unit following any diagnostic testing necessary to determine the cause of failure.

Warranty coverage excludes units damaged by oil, fuel, coolant, water intrusion, improper installation, or external electrical faults.

Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. Labor for removal and installation, consequential damages, and other associated expenses are not covered.
